Reflection

About the Project: Cities like London often experience overcast skies, and with the rapid rise of skyscrapers each year, buildings increasingly struggle with limited natural light—leading to higher reliance on artificial lighting and greater HVAC energy use. This project focused on optimizing daylight penetration to the lower floors through an atrium designed with perforated aluminum surfaces that reflect and distribute light efficiently.

My role involved conducting detailed daylight and energy analyses, along with parametric daylight simulations, to evaluate design alternatives and identify the atrium geometry that maximized natural light within the building.
